Many people suffer with terminal and debilitating illnesses. This ministry offers those people an opportunity to seek the Lord’s help during this struggle. Prayers are offered to eliminate the diseases and pain associated with these illnesses and Sister Dulce intercedes to Our Lord asking for His healing and mercy.

“Is anyone among you sick?  He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lrod will raise him up.  If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15)

Many people suffer from not having a personal relationship with God.  This ministry, through Sister Dulce, serves as a catalyst for those wanting and seeking to further their spiritual life on an individual basis.  Sister will also consult and guide visitors needing help discerning God’s will for them in their lives.

“Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20-21)

Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center offers several opportunities for adults to further their spiritual lives.  This includes Spirituality Classes for both men and women.  Sister lectures and leads conversations on different topics that affect our everyday living i.e. our roles as Christian adults; the importance of daily prayer; living as Disciples of Christ; and evangelizing just to name a few.

In addition, retreats are held periodically to afford the opportunity for Christian adults to gather and obtain a better understanding of God and His infinite love for us through different topics.

In adoration to Our Lady, Our Blessed Mother Mary, our Rosary Group gathers every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. to pray the rosary. Petitions are written and given to the nuns for them to add to their daily prayer requests. Also, the group is given the opportunity to publicly announce their petitions so that all in attendance may join in praying for their special need throughout the week. This group is open to the public and all are welcome to come and join in a quiet and spiritual morning with Our Mother.

“At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 10:36)

The Children’s Ministry is open to children with a terminal illness.  At their visit, the child and his parent/guardian prays with Sister Dulce for the Lord’s intercession in healing or if that not be the will of God, His mercy and love to eliminate pain and discomfort.

The child also spends fun time creating specially prepared crafts, playing games and enjoying the company of Prayer Partners specifically selected to work with these children.  To schedule an appointment, please call the Ministry Office at 225/752-8480.

Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center welcomes all young people, ages 13 – 18 to join this ministry.  The focus of the Youth Ministry is to excite and teach our young adults what a true, personal relationship with Christ means for them. This will be accomplished through specially designed programs that include: bible studies, retreats, community service and mentoring to children.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord”. (Ephesians 6:4)

All Prayer Partners and people associated with the Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center are practicing Catholics who yearn to learn more about their faith.  They understand the importance of spiritual growth and pledge to continue their faith education so that they can truly share their love of God and His love for others confidently and comfortably.  This program is available only to those currently affiliated with the Ministry Center.
